The Celia triangle scarf is a new crochet pattern with beautiful fall colors and elegant texture. Read through to find out all the details!

Concept and Design

Triangle scarves are hands down my most favorite item to make these days. Moss stitch is made up of single crochets and chains; super simple and yet so elegant and full of texture. I wanted to find a way to make this work in a triangle and ta – da! The Celia Triangle design came to life! This scarf is worked from the top down, working 1 slanted side, a chain 2 space, and then working the second slanted side. Sometimes the chain spaces can be tricky to find, but, once you get the hang of it, the Moss stitch is pretty easy. As with any of these triangle scarves I design, you can always add a fun border, tassels, and fringe – there are lots of ways to customize this scarf to make it truly one of a kind. You can also easily make this scarf any size using the 1 row repeat until your desired dimensions.

Yarn

Typically, I buy yarn first then I decide on the project later. I stumbled across some Caron X Pantone Bamboo yarn at Michaels one day, bought it, and then those poor skeins sat on a shelf for months. I thought the colors would look so pretty in chunky, color block sections for this scarf. Yarnspirations still offers their Caron X Patone line which is the same #5 bulky weight yarn I used minus the bamboo. I think the colorways Moody Pumpkins and Sunset Streak would look gorgeous in this scarf!

*Note: I purchased 3 skeins of this yarn and used all of each color before starting the next color section. In hindsight, I should have bought 4 skeins to add a bit more length.

Of course you can always substitute with any yarn and weight of your choosing. This pattern is super customizable in that lighter weight yarns will also work well. Whether you choose to color block, all solid, or use variegated yarn – your scarf will still have amazing drape and texture!

Materials Needed

  • Ideally, any sock, sport, DK, or worsted weight (#1-4) yarn should work for this project. I used Caron X Pantone Bamboo yarn in Cranberry Meadow (3 hanks), approximately 540 yards.
  • US size H/8  (5 mm) hook, or recommended hook for yarn used.
  • Tapestry needle
