Concept and Design

I really love the versatility of triangle scarves and the way they can be worn in fall, winter, and spring. It is such a great layering piece that it should really be a must for anyone’s wardrobe! The Niko triangle scarf is a fun asymmetrical triangle design worked from the small end to the larger end. It’s a beginner friendly project using basic crochet stitches and is easily customizable to any size with a 1 row repeat.  As an extra touch, I tied a knot on one end to make for an easy embellishment.

Yarn

I love all things purple and when I saw this yarn in YoshiandLucy’s Etsy shop, I had to have it! The lighter purple yarn has these pretty speckles and I thought it worked really nicely with the darker shade of purple. I chose to do large sections of color alternating from light and dark purple until I ran out of yarn. There is already so much texture to this scarf design, that I think any solid color, variegated, or combo would look really nice.

Of course you can always substitute with any yarn and weight of your choosing. This pattern is super customizable in that any #1 – #4 (sock thru worsted) weight yarns should work well. Just keep in mind that your yardage and hook size will vary depending on what weight yarn you pick.

Materials Needed

• Ideally, any sock, sport, DK, or worsted weight (#1-4) yarn should work for this project. I used hand dyed, DK (#3) yarn from YoshiAndLucy on Etsy in The Duchess (2 hanks) and Queen Mother (1 hank), approximately 690 yards.
• US size 7 (4.5 mm) hook, or recommended hook for yarn used.
• Tapestry needle
• Stitch marker (optional)
