The Arden infinity scarf is a new crochet pattern with beautiful Fall/Winter colors and great texture. Read through to find out all the details!

Concept and Design

Moss stitch (or linen stitch, or granite stitch) is one of my all time favorite stitches! The construction and stitches are so simple yet you get this lovely textured result. I wanted to create a pretty yet functional infinity scarf that is really comfortable to wear. The Arden infinity scarf is a beginner/easy level color blocked, double wrap infinity scarf. You can certainly alter the pattern and make it a single wrap scarf if you wish using the 1 row repeat.

The Arden infinity scarf is worked flat in short rows then sewn together once you reach your desired length.  Whether you decide to color block your scarf, or use a solid or variegated yarn – you will have a beautiful scarf!

Yarn

I was intimidated by sock/fingering (#1) weight yarn for the longest time. I do not enjoy using small hooks and working on long, time consuming projects. Then I saw the prettiest hand dyed yarn that I just had to have – only it was sock weight…I decided to go for it and I am so glad that I did! Now, I only make scarves with thinner weight yarns (#1-4) – the drape is so nice and it really makes for a softer, less bulky scarf around your neck which I really like.

Now, the only hard part is finding these elusive thinner weight yarns in the craft stores. I have to brag on Hobby Lobby for a minute because they have really stepped up their game in the last year or 2 by offering variety weight and colored yarns that would compare more expensive yarn companies. I found this Yarn Bee Pigment + Fiber in Fridays in Florence and really loved it. It was really nice to find a sock weight yarn that was really soft and affordable. Each color comes in its own ball that you do not need to pre-wind which is a nice bonus! Here are some of the other color combos it comes in.

Ideally, I would think any weight (#1-4) yarn would work for this scarf. Just know that your hook size and yardage will vary from mine.

Materials Needed

  • Any sock/fingering (#1) weight yarn in 6 colors, approximately 100 yards each or 600 yards total. I used Hobby Lobby’s Yarn Bee Pigment + Fiber in Fridays in Florence (1 skein).
  • US size F-5 (3.75mm) hook, or size needed to obtain gauge.
  • Tapestry needle
