The Adelia scarf is a new crochet pattern that has tons of beautiful texture and fringe. Read through to find out all the details!

Concept and Design

I don’t make many long/traditional scarves but when I came across this stitch I thought it would be a perfect fit! The Adelia scarf is made using the star stitch which looks complicated but is easy once you learn it. The PDF pattern includes a step-by-step photo tutorial to help you, and there are several great video tutorials available on the internet.

The Adelia scarf is very customizable in that you can make it to your desired dimensions with a 2 row repeat.  The fringe makes it fun but is completely optional.

Yarn

I used Lion Brand Scarfie yarn in mint/silver on a my Kenzie scarf a few years ago. I really loved the yarn itself and how the colors transitioned. It was a no brainer to use this yarn again only in pink/silver. Each skein has a very generous amount of yardage so I only used a small amount of the second skein for the actual scarf. This left plenty of yarn for the fringe, and you could even make a matching hat or ear warmer with the remaining amount.

Any bulky (#5) weight yarn will work for this scarf. I love using variegated yarn because you get so much color and very few ends to weave in. Whether you choose solid or variegated yarn, the texture still shines through and your scarf will look amazing!

Materials Needed

  • Any bulky (#5) weight yarn, approximately 395 yards. I used Lion Brand Scarfie yarn in pink/silver (2 skeins).
  • US size G (7 mm) hook, or size needed to obtain gauge
  • Tapestry needle
