The Lilly triangle scarf is a new crochet pattern with some fun striping/color work. Read through to find out all the details!

Concept and Design

I love the look of any type color fade in crochet projects. The Lilly triangle scarf is a sort of play on a color fade with some fun striping and color block sections. This is a super beginner-friendly triangle pattern if you have never made one before (trust me – you will become hooked once you do!!). You can choose any color combo you wish and the pattern is very customizable using a simple 1 row repeat.

You can choose to omit the color work if you wish, or add in more striping and colors to make it one of a kind. Even use variegated or solid yarn – it’s a very versatile pattern!

Yarn

I really love a mauvey-pink so when I saw these colors in Hobby Lobby, I thought they would look really pretty together in contrast with white. I used Yarn Bee Soft & Sleek in Mauve, Blush, and White. This line also comes in many other beautiful colors. It’s a worsted (#4) weight yarn and it’s pretty thick for a worsted weight yarn. In hindsight, I should have chosen a thinner worsted, or even DK or sock weight yarn. I prefer using thinner yarns when making a triangle scarf – they wear so much better and the drape is so pretty.

Ideally, you could substitute any weight yarn (#1-4) just know your hook size, yardage, and colorwork rows will differ from mine. Meaning, 10 rows in worsted might mean 15-20 in sock weight.

Materials Needed

  • Ideally, any sock, sport, DK, or worsted weight (#1-4) yarn should work for this project. I used Hobby Lobby’s Yarn Bee Soft & Sleek (worsted, #4) in Mauve (2 skeins, or 290 yards), White (2 skeins, or 350 yards), and Blush (1 skein, or 290 yards).
  • US size I-9 (5.5 mm) hook, or recommended hook for yarn used.
  • Tapestry needle
