The Ezrah rug is a new crochet pattern that works up super quick and has great texture. Read through to find out all the details about this project!
Concept and Design
This is one of those scenarios where I bought the yarn first before I knew what I wanted to make. After letting these skeins hang out in my stash for awhile, it dawned on me that they would make the perfect rug. We moved into our house about 8 months ago and we still needed some new décor items. We have a beautiful set of French doors that needed a rug, so I made the Ezrah rug specifically to fit this space. The colors in the yarn matched perfectly to my new cabinet and front entry way as you can see below (yay!!). The PDF pattern includes instructions for you to easily alter the width and length to your desired dimensions. The fringe is just a fun extra but the rug would still look fabulous without it!
The Ezrah rug works up pretty quickly with bulky weight yarn using a 1 row repeat. Of course, if you do not wish to make a rug – this pattern can be easily altered to make a great throw blanket perfect for snuggling on the couch!
Yarn
I stumbled across this yarn at Hobby Lobby a few months back and just fell in love with all of the pretty jewel tone colors in it. It’s Yarn Bee Arabella in the colorway Bejeweled. This yarn is very soft and easy to work with but sheds quite easily. There are several other pretty colorways in this line, and you can also find it in metallic.
You can substitute any bulky (#5) weight yarn for this project.
Materials Needed
- Any bulky (#5) weight yarn, approximately 1260 yards. I used Hobby Lobby’s Yarn Bee Arabella in Bejeweled (12 skeins).
- US size K/10.5 (6.5 mm) hook, or size needed to obtain gauge
- Tapestry needle
