The Aubrey wrap is a new crochet pattern using one of my favorite stitches – the corner to corner crochet technique. Read through to find out all the details!
Concept and Design
I learned to crochet corner to corner (C2C) a few years back and really fell in love with it! It’s a great technique to incorporate lots of color, pictures, and lettering into your projects. Each block is made of 3 double crochets and the subsequent blocks are worked into the chain 3 spaces diagonally. If you are new to C2C, I also include a How to Crochet Corner to Corner PDF with your purchase that walks you through color changes, increasing/decreasing, and includes several working pictures.
The Aubrey wrap is a great beginner friendly C2C project because you do not need multiple bobbins/skeins of the same color to complete a row. There are only 3 colors worked in large sections so you can just work using each skein. I really love using large color block sections in this arrow/chevron type design. The Aubrey wrap is generously sized making it a super warm and cozy wrap that can be used all year long.
Yarn
Lion Brand Heartland yarn has been one of my favorites for years! It is so soft and squishy, and all the colorways look rustic and heathered to make for a unique piece. I found these colorways at my local Joann’s store and thought they worked well together and screamed spring.🌷 There are so many other beautiful colorways in the Heartland line that you really can’t go wrong.
Regardless of which combo you choose, your Aubrey wrap will be stunning! You can substitute any worsted (#4) weight yarn for this project.
Materials Needed
- Any medium worsted (#4) weight yarn. I used Lion Brand Heartland in Capitol Reef (2 skeins, or 495 yds), Kobak Valley (2 skeins, or 490 yds), and Congaree (2 skeins, or 475 yds).
- US size H-8 (5 mm) crochet hook, or size needed to obtain gauge
- Tapestry needle
- Stitch marker (optional)
