Concept and Design

I first used this extended single crochet 2 together (ESC2TOG) with my Ava scarf and ear warmer set. I really love how fun the stitch was and the texture is really unique so I knew I wanted to use it again. It can be a bit tricky to get used to working in the back of an extended single crochet and chain 1 space but, once you do, the scarf works up pretty quickly.

Ava Infinity Scarf

I used 4 different Fall/Halloween inspired colors for the Ava infinity scarf but any combo would look beautiful as well as a solid or variegated yarn. With this stitch, you really can’t go wrong with your yarn choice 😊 This would also be a great stash busting project to use up all that leftover yarn!

Yarn

There are SO many great yarns from WeCrochet and I am slowly working my way through them. This Snuggle Puff yarn is so soft and squishy! It comes in 15 gorgeous shades and is pretty affordable. The Neptune colorway would make a beautiful Ava infinity scarf for the holidays.

Ideally, any weight yarn would work well for this project. Just know that if you use a different weight yarn than I did, your hook size and yardage will vary from mine.

Thank you to WeCrochet for providing the yarn for this project!

  • US size 7 (4.5 mm) hook, or size recommended for yarn used
  • Tapestry needle

  • Scarf can be easily altered to any size, just chain an odd number to start.
  • Chain 2 at beginning of row does not count as a stitch.
  • Ideally, any weight yarn should work for this project. Just know that your yardage and hook size will vary from mine. You will also need to adjust your starting chain to adjust width.
  • Scarf is worked flat, twisted once, then sewn together
  • ESC2TOG (extended single crochet 2 stitches together) – Insert hook into first stitch, yarn over and pull through a loop (2 loops on hook). Insert hook into second stitch (or space), yarn over and pull through a loop (3 loops on hook). Yarn over and pull through first 2 loops (2 loops left on hook). Yarn over and pull through both loops on hook.
